How You Can Support
The Erie Canal Museum is a Private 501(c)(3) organization, so we depend on you to help us continue providing quality experiences for our community. Most of our financial support comes from individuals and corporations.
There are several ways you can support the Erie Canal Museum’s mission and share the great adventure story of the Erie Canal:
Membership is available for individuals, families, and corporations. While also providing the Museum a reliable financial base, becoming a member provides you with several benefits, including:

Current Corporate Members:
Corporations or individuals can become an event or exhibition sponsor. The Erie Canal Museum has several opportunities available.
Golden Anniversary Sponsors:
The Erie Canal Museum accepts cash donations year round. You may designate your gift for a specific purpose or allow it to go towards general operating expenses and programs.
Did you know that when you're asked to contribute to the United Way that you can designate where your contributions go? That's right. YOU can control your contributions. Choose the Erie Canal Museum as your designated recipient.
Help us have a more secure future through planned giving. One of the simplest ways to give to the Erie Canal Museum is through a bequest in your will or a provision in your living trust. You may indicate that the Museum is to be the recipient of a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a particular piece of property.
The Erie Canal Museum always has several volunteer opportunities available for various interests. Perfect if you would like to get more involved in the community, interact with and teach children, learn more about the Erie Canal and the museums collection, or plan or participate in special events.
Internship opportunities at the Museum are available seasonally in the fall, spring, and summer in a broad range of disciplines including, (but not limited to): curatorial, collections, development, public relations, education, and events.
