The Museum is proud to partner with Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES School Library System to offer three full-day professional development workshops for teachers and librarians throughout Central New York. The workshops are free of charge, and each participant will earn six CTLE hours. They will take place from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on the following dates: October 17, 2017; March 27, 2018 and May 15, 2018. The workshops will take place at the Museum, 318 Erie Boulevard East, Syracuse. Presenters will include Liverpool Central School District teacher Martha Lawson and Museum staff.
Participants will learn about the origins and impact of the Erie Canal, take a guided tour of the Erie Canal Museum, gain ideas for instruction in several disciplines, and have the opportunity to develop new, inquiry-based lessons.
Participation in each workshop is limited to 16 people, so be sure to register soon.
