Canal Clean Sweep

Join us for the 19th annual Canal Clean Sweep hosted on Earth Day weekend!
Each Earth Day, the NYS Canal Corporation and Parks & Trails New York host Canal Clean Sweep, a weekend of spring cleaning on sections of the Canalway Trail, in canalside parks, and in other public areas throughout the Canal Corridor.
This year, the Erie Canal Museum will be hosting a Canal Clean Sweep event on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 10am to 12pm. Come help the Erie Canal Museum prepare for its Spring tourist season by helping us pick up from the winter, prepare the Locktenders Garden for planting, clean the interior of the Historic Weighlock Building, and much more!
