Join us for a public ghost hunt at the historic Weighlock Building in downtown Syracuse, presented by the Central New York Ghost Hunters and the Erie Canal Museum. This event, now in its fourth year, will offer four 90-minute sessions. Each session features an evidence reveal and a ghost hunt in two parts of the Weighlock Building, which is on the site of the 19th century Erie Canal and was a barge weigh station during the Canal’s heyday. The Central New York Ghost Hunters conduct investigations of possible paranormal activity and educate individuals and groups about this topic. All proceeds from this special event benefit the Erie Canal Museum, which is dedicated to preserving the Weighlock Building and sharing the history of New York’s Erie Canal.
Ninety-minute sessions begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m. You may bring your own ghost-hunting tools and smart phone apps, and others will be provided by the Central New York Ghost Hunters. Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your session is scheduled to begin. Space for each session is limited, and registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. The event is for ages 14 and up. Free parking is in the lot across the street under routes 81 and 690.
