You’re invited to join us at the grand opening of the 33rd annual Gingerbread Gallery to benefit the Erie Canal Museum, scheduled for 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday, November 23. Enjoy cookies and hot cocoa as you view the array of Canal-inspired creations submitted to this yearly holiday exhibit by bakers of all ages. The grand opening also features musical entertainment by the duo Merry Mischief, beginning right after the tree-lighting ceremony in downtown Syracuse’s Clinton Square. Tickets to the Gingerbread Gallery are $2 for children 12 and under, $5 for seniors, $7 for adults, and free for Museum members. Free parking is available in the lot across from the Museum, under routes 81 and 690.
The Gingerbread Gallery started in 1986 as a one-day gingerbread auction. Its popularity has increased over the years, and it is now a six-week-long exhibit featuring more than 30 works by individuals, families, groups and students. Everyone is invited to submit entries to the Gingerbread Gallery. If you are interested in becoming a Gingerbread baker, click here. The deadline to register is November 1, and entries must be brought to the Museum by 4:30 p.m. November 13. For more information on becoming a Gingerbread baker, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you at the grand opening of this fun holiday exhibit and yearly community tradition!
