Gingerbread House Workshop

The Erie Canal Museum conducts gingerbread house workshops for children and families every year while its holiday Gingerbread Gallery is on display. This year, we are pleased to present these workshops at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, December 14 and 28, and at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday, December 30. The workshops take place in the Museum’s historic Weighlock Building, located at 318 Erie Boulevard East in the heart of downtown Syracuse, New York.

During this public program, children and their families view the creations on display in the gallery, and Museum staff and volunteers teach participants how to create their own houses to take home using milk cartons, graham crackers, icing, and a variety of edible decorations. Each workshop lasts about an hour, and is a great way for children to put their energy and creativity to use! Preregistration and prepayment are required. Registration includes all materials and admission to the 34th annual Gingerbread Gallery to benefit the Erie Canal Museum. Admission for Museum members is $8 per child and free for accompanying adults. Admission for the general public is $12 per child and $5 per accompanying adult.
