Pathways of Resistance Walking Tour
Saturday, June 22 @ 1:00 PM
We are pleased to announce the return of the Pathways of Resistance walking tour, examining African-American experiences on and along the banks of the Erie Canal, from the waterway’s beginnings to contemporary times. While the legacies of slavery and systemic racism can be uncomfortable to discuss, it is crucial for these issues to be addressed and to understand how these legacies continue to impact our society today.
Space is limited, so please try to reserve a space in advance. Registration is free ($10 suggested donation) thanks to NY State Canal Corportation’s On The Canals Program.
The tour begins in the lobby of the Erie Canal Museum.
Pathways of Resistance will take place on the following dates this summer:
- Saturday, June 22 @ 1:00 PM
- Saturday, July 20 @ 1:00 PM
- Saturday, August 17 @ 1:00 PM
