Virtual Heritage Area Walking Tour

Take this virtual tour and learn how the Erie Canal helped build Syracuse.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, New York State’s Path Through History weekend is virtual. The Erie Canal Museum is taking part by offering its popular Heritage Area Walking Tour virtually! Join Museum Educator Derrick Pratt for the public premiere of this virtual tour via Zoom. The tour takes you from the Museum’s iconic Weighlock Building through the heart of Syracuse as you explore how the Erie Canal transformed a swampy hamlet into the thriving city we know today. A question and answer session will follow to give added context and information.
