On Wednesday, July 10, the Erie Canal Museum will hold an opening reception for Water/Ways, the amazing Smithsonian Institution exhibit we are hosting from June 29-August 11. Join us in the second-floor Weighlock Gallery from 5 pm-8 pm for remarks, refreshments, and the opportunity to view and learn all about the mission of this exhibit which dives into water–an essential component of life on our planet, environmentally, culturally, and historically. Water/Ways is part of the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street traveling exhibit program, which has visited 1,600 communities nationwide since 1994. You will also have the opportunity to hear about the many programs scheduled in conjunction with this exhibit, all of which are free and open to the public.
The event will include tasty drink samples and the Sassy Taco Food Truck, which will be parked next to the Museum offering a variety of scrumptious dinner fare. The entire Museum and its exhibits will be open with free admission until 8 pm. Both the Museum and the Weighlock Gallery are handicapped accessible, and free parking is available in the lot across the street. Be sure to bring your appetite!
