Re-Opening Information

Reopening to the public Thursday, July 30
We are glad to be able to welcome visitors back to the Museum starting on July 30. We have instituted the following modifications and policies to keep our visitors, staff and volunteers safe:

 

  • Limited Capacity
    • Admission to the Museum is by reservation only. Visitors are welcome to enter the Museum at the time of their reservation, with one party of up to 10 allowed to enter every 15 minutes. You can click here to make your reservation.
    • The Museum will remain below 25 percent capacity at all times.
    • Elevator use is limited to one party at a time.
    • Only one visitor at a time is allowed in the Museum Shop.
    • Guided tours of the Museum are unavailable until further notice, and all outdoor walking tours¬†are limited to 10 visitors.

     

  • Physical Distancing
    • Everyone is advised and encouraged by staff and signage to practice physical distancing by standing at least six feet away from individuals not in their party while moving around the Museum.
    • Clear acrylic shields are installed at our front desk and in the Museum Shop where social distancing may be difficult.
    • Directional arrows and other floor markings have been installed to assist with physical distancing.
    • Public programs will be held outdoors or virtually until further notice.

     

  • Personal Protective Equipment and Hygiene
    • All staff, volunteers, and visitors are required to wear face coverings that cover both mouth and nose upon arrival to the Museum and throughout their visit.
    • Disposable masks are available for free to anyone who needs one.
    • Hand sanitizer is available for guests at six different points around the Museum.

     

  • Safety Protocols
    • Door handles and all high-touch surfaces are sanitized at least once an hour, and the entire Museum is deep cleaned prior to opening each day.
    • Bathroom entrance doors are propped open, and bathrooms are for Museum visitors, staff, and volunteers only.
    • Interactive and hands-on exhibits are not available at this time.
    • All public seating has been temporarily removed.

     

  • Employee, Volunteer, and Visitor Health
    • All employees and volunteers complete a health screening prior to starting their shift.
    • Employees or volunteers who are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or believe they have been in contact with someone who may have been exposed are required to stay home.
    • Potential visitors who are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or believe to have been in contact with someone who may have been exposed should not plan a visit to the Museum.
