Visitors to the Museum can park vehicles in the New York State parking lot (ignore signs that say “Permit Parking Only”) under the highway overpass with entrances on North State Street and on James Street. Look for a sign that says “Museum Parking” and park down that row in the spots with brown “Visitor Center Parking” signs. (Note: The Erie Canal Museum is also the Heritage Area Visitor Center.) Vehicle parking is also available on-street surrounding the Museum and in convenient nearby parking lots. For more information about parking in Downtown Syracuse, click here.
Cyclists can park bicycles at a series of bike racks directly outside the Museum entrance as well as at bike racks located at the corner of Water and Montgomery Streets.
Numerous Centro bus stops are also located within one block of the Museum.
