Visitors to the Museum can park vehicles in New York State Parking Lot B, across from the Erie Canal Museum under the highway overpass. Parking lot entrances can be found on North State Street and James Street. While the lot is posted as permit parking only, look for a sign that says “Museum Parking” and park down that row in the spots with brown “Visitor Center Parking” signs. (Note: The Erie Canal Museum is also the Heritage Area Visitor Center.) Vehicle parking is also available on-street surrounding the Museum and in convenient nearby parking lots. Cyclists can park bicycles at a series of bike racks directly outside the Museum entrance as well as at bike racks located at the corner of Water and Montgomery Streets.

Numerous Centro bus stops are also located within one block of the Museum.
