We were honored to host the 2017 Session 2 Manufacturing Training Initiative closing ceremonies for the Syracuse City School District Refugee Assistance Program. The eight students, all New Americans, celebrated the completion of their two-week program of training, in-class and on-site instruction, and engagement with individuals currently employed in the manufacturing industry, with a certificate ceremony and a guided tour of the Museum. We talked about the role the Erie Canal played in immigration to the United States in the 19th century and invited them to come back to visit us anytime! Also, we’d like to thank Darco Manufacturing for thinking of us for this event!
