Sloan Fund Deeper Dive: High Bridge Book Event and Panel Discussion
May 8, 2024 | 6PM | Hybrid | Free with $10 suggested donation
Join the Erie Canal Museum and Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation for an upcoming Deeper Dive discussing the new book, High Bridge. Author Michael Miller will join a discussion panel with local experts to explore the fact and fiction behind this work of historical fiction investigating the Canal town of Fayetteville through the eyes of two of its most well known residents; Grover Cleveland and Matilda Joslyn Gage.
Michael Miller, author of High Bridge, grew up in a village in northern New Jersey that had only a single road passing through it. In that way, his hometown was very much like Fayetteville NY, the setting for the novel, High Bridge. He believes he has much in common with the book’s two protagonists – Grover Cleveland and Matilda Joslyn Gage.
Danielle S. Nagle, Ph.D., serves as Executive Director of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation in Fayetteville, NY, and Derrick Pratt is the Director of Education & Public Programming at the Erie Canal Museum. Both will be featured on our discussion panel.
The 2024 Lecture Series is presented by the Sloan Fund.
